thursday night, we went to the "fetish party" which was at this bar called "Curve" place we'd never been before. the party was really strange, lots of underdressed 18 year olds drunk off their asses. that's a pretty good summation of the "fetish party". we sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender for a long time, then everyone left the party and we were still chatting and i made the random comment "i would love to work in a bar" and the guy behind the bar was like "oh leave your number and we'll call you when we need people" it was freally fucking random! then we went out with the bartender guys (shaun and darin) and got home at 5. i lamely called in sick to work (though i am actually sick with a really annoying cold). got like 2 hours of sleep and i was up for today.
friday (today, sort of) i went to a lab meeting and finally saw the anemones i'm oging to be working with. they're adorable and really small, only 1.5 or so cm tall. they're so cute! and i saw our lab and then i went to 2 seminars and watched a bunch of presentations on peoples' thesis projects. then at 5 we went to the staff/grad studetn cafe thing and had a couple drinks and played some pool..good times, then i went home, realized i'd missed dinner and settled down to an early sleep and a boring evening. then i texted paul and they were hanging out, so then i ended up going out with paul and mike and toss and alex. it was fun, we played pool and then went to hope bros and then back to curve where i chatted a lot with the bartender again, and this guy who was there last night and had texted me. very strange. i guess i'm working there tomorrow starting at 9pm. SO STRANGE!! we eventually left there at 2am and came back, where i had a 30 min. conversation with alex standing outside the dorm. it was actually really interesting. seriously. and now i'm fucking tired as hell and i think i'm going to go to bed.
