Well, well, well
It's been a while since I've "blogged" but I figured it's about time for an update. I have no idea if anyone ever reads this, but oh well, maybe i'm just writing for my own fun.
I am now going to school at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. I'm working on my Masters in Marine Biology and I will be here for 2 years. Thus said, I have no phone, and the only way for people to chat with me is on AIM (Nangirl19) or through email (tiffbock@gmail.com). Cancelling my cell phone service was one of the harder things I've had to do. Sad isn't it? Just knowing that nobody could get ahold of me, I couldn't talk to people except on the computer, and realizing the finality of it all was quite moving. Hah.
I've been here for a week and a day now and I like it. It's winter here though so it's freakin' freezing. It hasn't rained yet, but it's supposed to rain. For those of you who are curious, Wellington is on the South tip of the North Island of New Zealand. It is quite hilly (big hill to campus) and very windy. You'd be amazed at how similar it is to San Francisco. Classes started on the 4th of July (not a holiday here) and I only have two classes a week, the first of which is today, in about 4 hours. I'm looking forward to having class becuase until now I've kinda been wandering around like a chicken with it's head up its butt trying to figure out what to do with myself. Well, actually I've had a lot of stuff to do like getting my student visa so I can stay here and all that stuff.
I live in a dorm, which is set up like an apartment. There are four people in our "flat" and we each have our own room. Two of my flatmates are Kiwis and aren't the most social people. My other flatmate is from Virginia and we've been hanging out a ton. It's quite random though, her name is Anne. Which is my old roommates name. I dont even have to learn new names around here!
Can't think of anything else at the moment, but perhaps I'll actually post a bit more often.
If anyone's coming to the area, drop me a line and maybe we can hang out. = P
