Hmmm, so I haven't posted in a long time. I'm currently at work at CalPerfs and I'm mildly bored. My current task is to go through accounts and make sure that all the capitalization and stuff is right and also check for duplicate accounts. I much prefer the address corrections that I usually do. So I know I should be working, but I can't keep my head on it. I also want to ask questions about some of these accounts but the people that have the answers are upstairs and I feel bad bothering them since they have better and more important things to be doing that answering my small questions.
So I'm taking a short break and writing in here.
Update on me:
I'm waiting to hear back from the schools I applied to in Australia and New Zealand. I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna get rejected from my first choice, James Cook University, but I have no idea about the other ones.
I'm slowly moving out of my apartment. I'm leaving for Mexico on May 25th and I need to be all moved home and organized enough to pack for Mexico and for Salt Lake City at the end of June. I currently have no desk, so my computer is on a little table under my bed. I still have all the kitchen stuff there and a table and the tv and vcr and my clothes and my bed. Lots of crap still to get home. Ugh! But it'll give me something to do.
I leave for Mexico on May 25th. Once there my dad and I are going to a four day language camp in a place, i think, it's called morelia. Then we go to Collola and spend three weeks saving baby turtles and hanging out there. I'm looking forward to the time that I think we'll have free there. I hope I can get my Spanish back up to speed and also have time to write some and catch up on my mind. Straight from Mexico, we're flying to Salt Lake City for an English Horn workshop at BYU. I get to play in a masterclass with Carolyn Hove, who is a really good english hornist, but i cant remember what symphony she's in. Oh well, should be fun. I have to pack for this in May though because we're shipping our clothes to someone we know in the area so that we dont have to take them to mexico with us. Because I'm spending the month before this conference in Mexico, I have to take my English Horn with me. We don't want to take the $600 case, so I'm working on making my own case with my Dad. We finished the bottom of it and it should be pretty coold for a homemade case. = )
This next week is my last symphony concert with the University Symphony. I've been in it for 5 years, so it could be really, really weird. Really weird.
Come May I have no idea when (if ever) I'll be back in Berkeley. After May the only way I can spend more than a few hours in berkeley i have to crash on someone's couch, i have no place of my own
i really dont like not knowing where I'm going next year. If i dont get into any of the schools i applied for, then i feel like I'm lost. Right the thought is that I'll work on a credential and do some teaching. Other than that I dont' really have any plans.
all of this stuff doesn't seem to keep my days from getting boring. my work at calperf isn't supposed to be exciting, and i'm okay with that because it pays me.
over at the coral reef alliance i tend to end up doing tedious tasks, but i have a research thing that i'm working on that i need to go to the library to actually work on sometime. i kinda feel like they dont give me enough credit for my intelligence, but i guess i am just a volunteer... = P
other than that, life's just kind of going. and going too fast! i leave in 3 weeks! in the next 3 weeks i will completely move back home and be gone. it's just so weird. not the mexico thing, but what's after that. leaving my friends, not really knowing where i'm going...
i have friends that i've known for a long time and some that i've gotten to know better recently, but i almost feel bad making friends with people since i'm just gonna leave. oh well...
meh... = P
i have to say that i feel much more secure about who i am these days. i dont like everything i am, but at least i feel like i know that its me.
